While the sandy shoreline of Mexico is a distant dream, Montaukila aims to bring south of the border flavor to a cocktail near you.
Born in Montauk in 2018, Montaukila is premium, certified, 100% blue agave tequila and made with an ultra specific pallet in mind– summertime. The smooth flavor is produced from the award-winning distillery in Jalisco, Mexico. The birthplace of tequila itself.
Branded with a uniquely crafted logo, arrowheads in the shape of the agave plant, Montaukila currently offers two bottle expressions; Blanco and Anejo. The original Blanco is smooth and comparable to other notable brands. It can even be used in a Margarita Pie. Meanwhile, the Anejo has a specially crafted taste, aged one year in oak barrels, ideal for sipping over ice on summer afternoons or your next taco Tuesday.
Drink of the moment: Montaukila Spicy Margarita

- 2 oz Montaukila
- 1 oz orange liqueur
- 2 oz fresh lime juice
- 1/2 oz agave syrup
- 2 jalapeno coins
- Muddle jalapeno in glass
- Shake rest with ice, pour.
- Get salty with some salt on the rim!
Beyond business, Montaukila remains grounded with its mission and is dedicated to doing more for the global environment. Newly launched for 2020, in partnership with the 501(c)(3) non-profit Oceanic Global, the brand donates 100% of its profits from all apparel sales to ocean conservation. It’s retail therapy worth catching a wave for.
Right now the company is exclusively distributed and sold on Long Island. It is set to launch a new expression in 2021, details to come.
